Analysis of Factors Affecting Assistive Technology Use for the Workers with Disability

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to reveal influential factors on the use of assistive technology devices aimed at workers with disabilities. The study conducted survey research aimed at 493 workers with disabilities who were supported in the use of assistive technology devices through the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled.
First, as a result of investigating the level of the use of assistive technology devices according to variable, there was a significant difference in the level of the use of assistive technology devices according to the disability rating, satisfaction with assistive technology devices, acceptance of disabilities, and the level of user¡¯s recognition. Second, influential factors on the use of assistive technology devices involved the disability rating, satisfaction with assistive technology devices, environmental support, and the user¡¯s recognition of assistive technology devices.
As a result of the study, influential factors on the use of assistive technology devices by workers with disabilities were discovered to include the disability rating, satisfaction with assistive technology devices, environmental support, and the user¡¯s recognition of assistive technology devices. Therefore, in order to maximize the use of assistive technology devices by workers with disabilities, it would be necessary to professional counseling and evaluation of each worker with disabilities and to education for promoting an understanding of assistive technology devices aimed at people working together with workers.
